What we believe shapes how we live, how we worship and how we witness. Sound doctrine is not just information—it is transformation.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of One Sound United Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Empowerment and Indwelling of the Holy Spirit

"We believe in the empowering and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, marked by the evidence of speaking in tongues, as a gift available to believers, guiding and empowering them for service and living a godly life.”
Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

The Trinity

“We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, our Creator; God the Son, Jesus, our Savior; and God the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, each distinct yet perfectly united.”
Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Salvation by Grace through Faith

“We believe salvation is a gift of grace from God, received through faith in Christ Jesus. This faith is evidenced by repentance, leading to a transformed life.”
Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10

Repentance of Sin

“We believe in the importance of repentance from sin as part of the believer’s response to God’s gracious offer of salvation.”
Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9

Holiness

“We believe in living a life of holiness, without which no one will see the Lord, reflecting the holiness of God in our conduct and character.”
Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16

The Return of Christ

“We believe in the imminent return of Christ, who will come again to gather His Church, marking the fulfillment of God’s promise and the hope of believers.”

Authority of Scripture

“We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, authoritative inerrant and infallible, guiding us in all matters of faith and practice.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105

Sanctification

“We believe in sanctification, a process of being set apart for God’s purposes, characterized by a life of holiness and righteousness, through grace and the power of the Holy Spirit.”
1 Thessalonians 4:3; Romans 6:22

Baptism

“We believe in water baptism as a public declaration of faith in Christ and identification with His death, burial and resurrection.”

Five-Fold Ministry

“We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, given by Christ for the equipping of the saints, the work of ministry and the edification of the body of Christ.”
